About Project Launch Pad Inc. 

Project Launch Pad was born out of a conversation that changed everything.

Years ago, my best friend Erica was sentenced to 20 years in prison. During one of our conversations, we talked honestly about what life would look like when she eventually came home. One question kept coming up:

Where would she go?

 

Like many individuals returning to the community after incarceration, she worried about finding stable housing, rebuilding her life, and having the support needed to start over.

That question stayed with me long after the conversation ended.

As I began researching housing barriers, I discovered that the challenge extended far beyond reentry. Veterans, survivors of domestic violence, individuals facing financial hardship, and many others were struggling to find safe, affordable places to live during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

 

I realized there was a gap—and I wanted to be part of the solution.

With a belief that everyone deserves a safe place to start over, I used my own savings to launch Project Launch Pad. There were no grants, investors, or large donations. Just a commitment to creating housing opportunities for people who needed them most.

How We've Grown

What began as a single housing location has grown into multiple homes throughout Charlotte, North Carolina.

Every resident who secures employment, reconnects with family, transitions into permanent housing, or reaches a personal milestone is a reminder of why this work matters.

 

Today, Project Launch Pad continues to provide safe, affordable, and supportive housing for adults working toward stability, independence, and a brighter future.

The Full Circle

Housing provides stability—but employment creates opportunity.

Through our work in the community, we saw a common challenge: many individuals needed housing, but many also needed a path to sustainable income. Without income, achieving long-term stability becomes much harder.

That's why we launched Project Launch Pad Workforce Enterprises.

 

Our workforce initiative was created to help bridge the gap between housing and economic independence. By creating employment opportunities and workforce pathways, we're working toward a future where individuals have access to both a safe place to live and meaningful opportunities to move forward.

Because true success isn't just helping someone find housing—it's helping them build a life.
